Drum cover of Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You”
This kid has some chops. Like…good lord. I wonder how he is at Rock Band?
Slash - S/T

I don’t have the audio to post, sorry guys and dolls.
This album is a very solid effort by Slash. He’s had this on his plate since at least 2007. I think most musicians eventually want to do a solo album, and I’m glad he finally got this out. I think it was more of him having fun as well as trying to see who would be a good fit for Velvet Revolver. Obviously Fergie will never be their lead singer, but Chris Cornell and Myles Kennedy were both names I heard mentioned in the discussion.
That leads me to my next point: the variety of guests on this album is very refreshing. Slash never loses his signature chugging, swirling guitar riffs that tie all the songs together, but Slash & Rocco DeLuca or Slash & Adam Levine were duos I never expected to really hear ever. The good news is that it really really works and almost nothing is lost in translation.
The vocalists aren’t the only people getting in on the guest spot action though. Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters and Flea both make appearances on the record, and throughout the whole thing you can really tell on every song that everyone is just having fun with the whole process.
7/10

Anonymous asked: Have you heard Slash's new solo album, and if so how did you like it?
I have. I would say it was a pretty decent album all around. He didn’t do anything too crazy, but I honestly didn’t expect him to. I’ll try to write up a review later so I can really speak on it. I think the biggest point of the album was to audition a new Velvet Revolver singer, honestly. It was good though. 7/10 I’d say
This is one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands ever.
In Ohio On Some Steps - Limbeck
Cut Your Hair (Pavement Cover) - Motion City Soundtrack
I have three words for this cover: Oh. My. God.
This is so good. I love MCS and I love Pavement and this is almost as good to me as the Ben Folds/Elliott Smith cover was.
I love obscure covers. “If U Seek Amy” by Britney Spears, Violin and Timpani cover.
Say Yes (Elliott Smith Cover) - Ben Folds
This cover is so good. Two of my favorite artists. I wish it was a different song (I love Alameda so much) but this is very good. Folds is a master of music, and Elliott Smith would likely be honored to have this happen.
Enjoy The Silence (Depeche Mode Cover) - Maritime
Maritime is formed of some ex-The Promise Ring musicians. They’re wicked good and this cover does it justice. I love his explanation of the song at the beginning too.
Kokomo (Beach Boys Cover) - Retribution Gospel Choir
Cover captures a Beach Boys feel without sounding too “poppy” or washed out. I dig.
